Originally founded in 1998 as WALKSacramento, our organization began as a passionate, all-volunteer effort to advance health equity through smarter land use, transportation, and community development. In 2001, we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and in 2021, we evolved into Civic Threadโa new name and fresh identity that reflect a broader vision, while staying true to the values that have guided us since day one.
Over the past decade, we’ve continued to build on the legacy of WALKSacramento, driving meaningful, community-centered change across the Sacramento region. Now, it’s time to celebrate how far we’ve come.
Join us for a special evening to honor the people, partnerships, and progress that have shaped healthier, more equitable communities for all.
