Project Timeline

Fall 2024-Summer 2027

Using a community‑driven approach, our team is leading the Sacramento RT Mobility Hub Implementation Plan Project. This project will help decide which 7 of SacRT’s 54 light rail stations should become the next Mobility Hubs.

  • Civic Thread leads the project. We manage the work, oversee grant funds, lead community outreach, and deliver the final plan.
  • SacRT will help guide the project. SacRT will create design guidelines and help decide which stations should be considered first. SacRT will also support future projects and work with the technical consultant, WSP, on technical analysis.
  • Sacramento Building Healthy Communities (Sac BHC) will support community outreach and work with a team of Community Ambassadors. Ambassadors are paid community members who help make project decisions. They help plan outreach and make sure people from different backgrounds are included.

During the planning process, the team will review possible locations for mobility hubs. The team will also look at ways to improve stations. Improvements may make it easier to walk, bike, take transit, or use shared transportation. Community needs and priorities will guide all decisions.

The final plan will explain how to choose locations and how to move projects forward. It will use lessons from earlier projects and shared design guidelines. This will help keep projects consistent across the region.

Most SacRT light rail stations are in low‑income or disadvantaged communities. These areas often face transportation and air quality challenges. Because of this, community involvement is a key part of the project. Community feedback will help guide investments so they meet local needs.

How to Get Involved

Take this Survey! Civic Thread is asking community members to share their priorities through a survey. This feedback will directly shape the criteria used to choose which stations to improve first.
